Technology Showcase
Websites
These are examples of websites/blogs I have created since 2011. I created one as a part of the MAET program to share my work created. Another is an example of using a blog to enhance my classroom experience for parents, students, and other educators. Most recently, I created a website that curates technology resources and iOS app reviews. My goal for each site is to share my information, experiences, and knowledge with others to create the best educational experience for ALL students.
Learning about EdTech
This website is comprised of work from my first three MSU MAET courses that were part of the EdTech Certificate Program. It is a collect of course assignments and reflections on coursework and teaching.

Teaching with Technology 2.0
In an effort to organize my classroom blog, I created this website as an offshoot of the class blog. As I was exposed to more tech tools, I wanted a place to reflect on using the new tech tools with my students. This website is a place I can blog about technology (uses, issues, questions), provide app reviews, and share app resources.
Web Tools
The plethora of web tools available today are amazing. The issue isn't finding a web tool, it is now finding a web tool that will support the activity the best. Here are some of the web tools that I have used in both MAET courses as well as explored as part of my classroom.
PreziInstrumental vs Missional Thinking
This is a visualization of how instrumental thinking can cause a disconnect in technology use. When planning for technology use, one must remember that tech is simply a tool. I chose Prezi for this project because of the presentation flow Prezi allows. I felt that as one's thinking needs to flow from instruments; to missional thinking,, Prezi's format would add to the feel of the presentation. |
I am an active member of twitter. I have built my PLN to include over 1000 people who are willing to share and engage in powerful discussions about education, but also have a little friendly banter. I am currently the moderator/moderator-organizer for #spedchat which focuses on issues relating to special education.

GlogsterThis was a classroom created holiday poster using Glogster. The students took turns choosing a picture to represent the holiday their family celebrated. Assisted by the teacher, the students added the pictures to the 'glog' via the interactive whiteboard. Glogster was chosen as a tool for this project due to the interactive nature and the ability to share the work. Our goal was for this to become an interactive piece with parents and other classrooms.

MoodleAs part of course about teaching students online, we were expected to create an online course. I chose to create a Moodle course that focused on introductory information about using iPads in the classroom as it would support the need within my school for information on iPads. In addition to teaching students, I enjoying teaching colleagues and I felt this would provide a great experience as well. You can view the Moodle course by signing on as a guest with the password MSU. I chose Moodle for this project for two main reasons. First, it was available through my school district so I wanted to have some experience with it. Second, I wanted to explore a tool that considered an Open Educational Resource (OER).

Using Collaborative Web Tools
Several of the MAET courses required students to collaborate on projects. This meant that you possibly could have a group member in Germany, Michigan, and Texas. The job of the group was not only the end product, it was a learning experience on how to plan, organize, and navigate collaborative work. Below you will find examples of collaborative MAET projects.

Multimedia Resources
Multimedia resources are examples of taking two or more technology tools and creating a multimedia resource. These resources were made as part of MAET courses as well as part of lessons from my classroom.
My Professional Learning PlanThis multimedia piece was created using iMovie, then uploaded to YouTube as part of a course assignment. It was a culminating project looking back over the three EdTech certificate courses and how it impacted my teaching.

The Jacket I Wear in the SnowI used the tech tools presented in my courses to create this accessible book for my classroom as part of Digital Learning Day 2012. The students and I used Prezi to sequence the story. Once the story was sequenced and the Prexi path was created, I created a screencast using Screencast-o-matic while I read the book text and forwarding through the Prezi.

Creating a tutorial screencast
In addition to supporting students with technology use, another one of my passions is to help colleagues develop their technology skills. For this multimedia piece, I created a screencast of how to find and use the SmartExchange website. This was created to compliment my Wicked Problem Project fro CEP 812.
